For those unsure as to what that is, I'll briefly explain. It's an opportunity for members of our ward to bear their testimony of the things that they know to be true in the gospel. It not only strengthens their testimony but it strengthens ours as well.

So back to yesterday. A member who was badly hurt in a bicycle accident, and who was in a coma for while, wanted to bear her testimony. Now mind you she's in a wheel chair and it takes Two people and a cane for her to walk any distance. A member of the bishopric offered to bring the mic down to her she shook her head no and pointed to the podium.

When she got on the stand and that member of the bishopric was holding her arm for balance. You could see in her face and in her eyes her testimony trying all it could to get out, but it wouldn't come. She kept saying "well" and "I" and "what". So after a minute or two bro Giles asked in the mic "is Jesus Christ your savior and Lord?". She said "O, YEAH!". Everyones eyes welled up at this point. Than brother Giles said "you love your Heavenly Father, and you know he loves you?". And she said "O, YEAH!!!!". And that was it, the tears were rolling. I don't believe their was a dry eye in the building after that. I'm crying just trying to type this out. I'm glad it's not on paper or it would be all wet.

I know that Heavenly Father works in wonderful ways to touch our hearts and lives. Sometimes they don't have to say but the littlest thing to get the spirit to overwhelm you, but he's there. And so is his son, the savior of the world Jesus Christ.

painting

So I know I'm a little weird and all but hear me out. Like six months ago I told Kristin that I had this scene in my head that I just had to paint. Now mind you I have never painted anything besides water colors in elementary school.

And I had this scene in my head, now I know that it wouldn't turn out just like the picture in my noggin, but that's ok, right? So the outline of the house didn't turn out just like I planned but the color, the door and everything else was beyond what I had pictured. From not being able to draw a stick figure to actually painting, I'm more than happy with the end results.

And constructive criticism will not hurt my feelings. I can take it, but remember it is my first.

OSU vs. O

The age old dilemma. I have always been an Oregon State fan. It started when I was little, due to the fact that my hippie uncle went to the university of Oregon, and I was raised to really, really not like hippies. That my brother went to Oregon State (no your not crazy, I don't have a brother, but my neighbor that I grew up with is my brother). One of my other uncles did go to Oregon State. That counts for something. Don't forget the fact that Oregon State has an agricultural program and a forestry program, the two big industries that this state depended on fully. Especially since almost everyone of our ancestors had something to do with either the forestry or agricultural industries. Lets not forget that the university of Oregon had it their way they would shut down those two industries in a heartbeat.

Lets put that all aside, cause there is more important things in life than despising things. So I have decided that having U of O stuff and to root for the U of O, as long as they are not playing the Beavers is an OK and good thing. I know its a long step from the place that I used to be. Deep down I will always be a Beaver, and I will always root for them over any team.

Bicyclists ye be warned!

Yep that's right I said it. Then you start to get what's going on. Then you start to wonder how far this will go. Seeing how he fell in love and all. The last sequence when In the bath tub filled with ice and he dumps the bucket in. I lost it, I had the tears flowing. Not so much as a reaction of sadness, but more of a reaction to the selfless sacrifice he was making. It's not the path that I would recommend for anyone to take, but he had his reasons. Saturday December 11, 2010 will be a day that my family will hopefully never forget. We were sitting at the dinner table, Kayley was gone it was just Kristin, Brielle, Maeghan, and I. I had been sick that week and I started having a coughing fit, I spit out my food and the next thing I knew I was waking up on the floor yelling at Kristin to get off me! I looked around and saw chair legs, table legs and Kristin was not in the position I left her. "Why am I laying on the floor" I yell at her. Then she proceeds to tell me how I slumped on to the table, head turned bright red, started shaking and off I went. I slammed to the floor my head hitting the nice soft hard wood floor.

Then I snuggled Brielle for a while on the couch do to the fact she was crying. I called my mom to come watch the kids so my dad co9uld drive Kristin and I to the new hospital. They drew blood, gave me an IV, and a cat scan. Cat scan was blank, but all is well. Doc said take it easy, and come back if it happens again. Hope it never happens again. Kristin said it was about one minute from the time I slumped on the table to waking. So I was dead for a minute, thanks be to the Lord it was only one minute.

The Overton Window

I'm not much for words on trying to say what a book meant to me or how I interpreted the book. All I will say is that the things that are in the book, have happened, or we are watching them happen right now. They make you really open your eyes to the impending doom that this country is on the path to. You really see what the founding fathers really tried to keep in this country, and the things they tried to prevent. I really think that everybody should read this book, liberal, conservative, or whatever you are. READ IT. Normally I teach, it is easier, and I know that it will be done.

So I had this big lesson on home teaching all lined out, printed out, and rehearsed in my brain. Until I attended Ward Welfare at 7:30 this morning. Then I was reminded that this church is the Church of Jesus Christ and that he runs the show. With personal revelation through the Holy Ghost, I was told that the lesson was to be on Alma 36:3. It simply was the scripture thought of the day for our morning meeting. I didn't know what, how, or why that was to be, just that God said so. That is all that I needed to know.

I got up almost last to bear my Testimony, only cause I didn't get the push until this one kid got up. You see his family are not members, he is the only one. His mom is a single mom, his brothers are horrible. They break the Word Of Wisdom, he will come home from church to find that their girlfriends are there in compromising situations. They don't have any courtesy for a kid who is actually on his own accord trying to be a "Good Kid".

I opened my Testimony with "I usually tell people I only cry at church when I get up to speak, cause I am allergic to whatever they make these pulpits out of, but today when Jesse was speaking I must have gotten a whiff of something, cause I couldn't hold it in".

I went on to talk about Jesse and how we should all be taking lessons from this kid, and I said pointing to Jesse that HE IS THE STRONGEST PERSON IN THIS BUILDING. I ended it with my Testimony of Jesus as the Christ, how we have a living prophet on the Earth today. That our local and stake leaders are all guided by personal revelation for us.

I am so thankful for people like Jesse who are a shinning example to all of us in these last days. SHINE ON KID

Mexico, I'm almost ready

So, here I go.

I don't want to even think about leaving our beloved country. Here are some things we should look at here.

1. 330,000,000 (population of the U.S.A.)
            2. 10% (uninsured percent of the population of the U.S.A.)
3. 1 X 2=33,000,000
4. 20,000,000 (low estimate of number of illegal aliens in the U.S.A.)
5. 3 - 4=13,000,000 (number of legal uninsured people in the U.S.A.)
6. 8,000,000 ( number of people in U.S.A. who already quality for
GOV ran health care, but are too lazy to fill out the forms.)
7. 5,000,000 (number of uninsured Americans who make too much for
GOV ran health care, and make too little to afford it from there work
or their work does not provide health insurance.)
8. 7 / 1 = 0.015151515 (that is right, this so
called insurance bill might only help 1.5% of
the population of the U.S.A.)

Now that that is out in the open. The first year that the new mandates come out the insurance companies have said that they will have to raise their rates 100% to cover the pre existing conditions, like terminal cancer. So with the increase they loose 30% of their customers.

Year two of the mandates they raise another 100%, and they loose 30% of their customers.

Year three of the mandates they raise another 100% and they loose 30% of their customers.

Year four of the mandates they raise another 100% and they loose 30% of their customers.

Year five of the mandates, oh, sorry I forgot to tell you that they had to sell out to the GOVERNMENT due to the fact that in year one through four they lost enough customers and revenue that they could not make a profit.

Now your stuck with total GOVERNMENT run health care, or you go to Mexico to see your old doctor, who I'm sorry to say has been in Mexico for four years now due to the fact that he wasn't getting paid. So, yes Socialism scares me. Sealed, how long have we been sealed, on August 25, 2010 we will have been sealed for three years.

Till death do you part. Now I don't know about you but does that sound like the marriage will last for eternity? No. Till death do you part. But that is the beauty of the Plan of Salvation. The opportunity to be worthy to enter into the House Of The Lord and to be sealed (married) to your spouse for eternity, not just life here, but life beyond the grave.

For this post I am going to quote the book "A Marvelous Work And A Wonder" by Elder LaGrand Richards.

"At the time the gospel was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith, there was not a church in the world, as far as we have been able to learn, that taught that the marriage covenant was intended to extend beyond death; hence the wording of the marriage ceremony as performed by the ministers of that day and until the present time: "Until death do you part." A careful consideration of the wording of this marriage covenant will reveal the fact that it is not only a marriage covenant but also a bill of divorcement, since it clearly releases one from the other at the death of either. Thus they have entered into no covenant or agreement with each other beyond the death of one party; neither has the minister attempted to bind them together beyond the death of either. Therefore, all obligations to each other are fulfilled upon the death of either".

"The Lord intended that the marriage covenant should be for time and for all eternity, and the practice of marrying "until death do you part" did not originate with the Lord or his servants, but is a man-made doctrine. Therefore, all men and women who have died without having been sealed to each other for time and for all eternity, by the power of the holy priesthood, have no claim upon each other after thy are dead. They also have no claim upon their children, for the children have not been born under the covenant of eternal marriage. In order that the purposes of the Lord should not be defeated and that he should not come "and smite the earth with a curse," it became necessary, when the gospel was restored in this dispensation, for the keys of the priesthood also to be restored, whereby living children can be vicariously married for their dead parents and be sealed to them as their children, even as they can be baptized for them. The apostle Paul said: "...they without us should not be made perfect." This is one of the great truths the Lord has revealed in these latter days, which makes his work in very deed a marvelous work and a wonder."

I leave you with my Testimony of the truthfulness of the covenant of eternal marriage, that by the priesthood this ordinance can give you ever lasting life eternal with your family. I leave this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

????

So, had an idea of posting something on the blog tonight, but for the life of me I can't remember what I was gonna post. No we don't have purple toothpaste, don't get me wrong that would be pretty cool.

Hockey

During a late night conversation with Kristin about why I don't rope, after my blog, we were talking of another one of my past sports. I give you Hockey.

When I was in the fifth grade my friend Chris White got me roped into Ice Hockey. They started me out on the line, but that quickly got rerouted to being the goalie. I loved it, we went to Canada to participate in tournaments. Went to Seattle to participate in tournaments, and regular games. I got to spend some time one year in Canada at a hockey camp, then the next year i went to Minnesota to attend a goalie camp. I loved hockey, still love hockey. The thing that amazed event the college scouts and the semi pro scouts is that through my whole career I had a 94% save average. Which the pros only are around 97-98%.

When I was in High School it came down to a choice. You either can wrestle and rodeo or you can play hockey and rodeo. I chose to wrestle for a number of reasons.

One, wrestling didn't interfere with rodeo on the weekends. Because all the weekend tournaments were held in the off season of rodeo. Then during rodeo season the only wrestling was on Thursdays.

Two, the politics in a county junior hockey league in Eugene Oregon are insane. The doctors and the lawyers kids were always better at it than you and should have more ice time, even though they could barely skate. They couldn't even stop a single puck with there enormous leg pads. Not to toot my horn, but to be successful at the position of the goalie you have to be able to stop a 101 m.p.h. slap shot from distances as close as 15 feet or as far as 60 feet away.

I have been thinking of going down to the local arena and playing with the old guys, well we will see.

But to my other hero, thanks for doing it for me.

Roping

Thanks to a recent midnight instant messaging conversation with a friend about why there are not pictures of my horse on my facebook profile, I give you calf roping.

Growing up I trailed behind my dad rope in hand. I had aspirations, I had big dreams, I dreamed of becoming one of the greats.

Roping was more than a hobby, you bled roping. When I was in high school, after wrestling practice, we would drive 30 minutes from the house to practice for a minimum of three hours everyday. The only days we didn't practice was rodeo days, and a Monday following a rodeo.

The reason I can't rodeo anymore has to do with some choices that were made. Choices that I wouldn't take back for anything. Marriage and three kids later. Especially on a truck drivers wage, there is no way that could be in the cards.

All these feelings of disappointment and wishing that I could be back there, all came rushing in last week. Kristin and I were watching the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, when she asked "do you wish that you never quit roping?" and "why did you quit roping?" The truth is, I wish I could go back to roping, but there is nothing that could take the place of my three kids and my beautiful wife. And maybe, just maybe to sacrifice all of that just to go roping, would be selfish. Kristin I love you.

And to my hero, I Thank You for doing it for me.

Crèche

The Christmas season is upon us all. I have always welcomed the Christmas season with open arms. This year has been a little difficult. With the setup of the Crèche exhibit, and sick kids, I have been under some more than normal stress. Since we finished the setup of the Crèche exhibit over, and we can enjoy the Nativity scenes that are up it has been a little easier. The stress has gone down. Monday we will have to take all the tables, risers, electrical, and table cloths down, but that will be better than the setup.

I enjoy the season to celebrate the birth of Christ, and forget the world around us, or at least try to forget it. If only society could see what Jesus has done for all of us, they would appreciate the Christmas season more. I wish that society would back away from the materialistic aspect of Christmas. It makes me sad, then we start celebrating the birth of Jesus and all the material things just seem to disappear and we think of only our family and loved ones. How much we love our family.

I Love You.

Totally Ridiculous

I hope you all know the three in this picture, but for those of you who don't know pictured starting in the middle is Leland, on his right is Duane Lee, and on the far left is Tim.

They are part of the "DOG" the Bounty Hunter show on A&E. I like to watch this show, not just cause there in my favorite state. Yes I have been to Hawaii, but it is the fact that these guys capture some of the states most notorious criminals.

I decided one time I would do a little research on "Bounty Hunting". I now know that Oregon in its infinite wisdom has made "Bounty Hunting" illegal. That is right this left wing, bleeding heart, P.C., love everyone, favor the wrong state made "Bounty Hunting" illegal.

So I wonder if you made a "Citizens Arrest" on a known fugitive if that would be considered illegal. That is sad that the person that is responsible for this persons bail cannot get that money secured. That is right the looser "Islamic Terrorist" that they captures supposedly got sucker punched in the jaw. Huh, sounds like if you didn't want the SEAL team to punch you in the face then maybe you shouldn't do what you were doing....huh, sound familiar?

They want support for our troops from you and me, but the Government does not have to support them. They need to step on their toes, stab them in the back, and give them zero support. Then it comes time to either get the job done, or pull them out. So, what is it gonna be? I would have given them the chance to get it done. Then by a certain time, (which has been seven years) pull them out, whether or not they got it done or not pull them out, I don't care if they have five minutes left. GET THEM OUT, NOW!!!!

My Uncle was a SEAL in Vietnam. He saw the total lack of respect the population had for his fellow troops, and comrades. I have never or probable never will see the horror and evil things that he saw. The things he had to do, I hope I will never have to do. Then they get treated like dog doo, for sacrificing themselves and their family for us. It is very sad. "Youth Corps", "Redistribution of Land", "Redistribution of Wealth". It is all stuff that Obama is trying to instill in the hearts of Americans.

There is a sign in Washington state next to the carpool lane or "HOV", whatever you want to call it. That simply states to report violators call 1-800-#@$-HERO (I don't remember what the other numbers are). I am sorry but tattling on your fellow man for violating the carpool lane is retarded, simply retarded. Makes you fill like a big man then go ahead and report me, because by the time that the cop finally gets to me I will be out of the carpool lane anyway.

Back to Mao, the similarities with him and his social regulations and his military philosophies is very scary. And Obama is forcing this same stuff down our throats. People need to speak out, if you read this blog speak out. I am going to take some quotes that Glenn Beck uses.

"QUESTION WITH BOLDNESS"
"SPEAK WITHOUT FEAR"

On a side not, a person with awesome intent hacked into a certain university's server and collected a number of emails that are covering up the real numbers for global warming. The emails talk of making up numbers or reversing them to fit the agenda of an elite section of the population that would profit from a Carbon Tax. Hmmmmm.....sounds familiar....o yea it has happened. And Obama is going to sign a treaty that will create a one world government to enforce and control the emission of Carbon. Well what is funny is that the emails prove that global warming is a farce. My Suburban did not make the polar ice caps on Mars melt. Nor this planets ice caps. That is right you probably didn't hear about the Mars ice caps melting, did you? That would be something else they would keep quite, because it proves that the sun controls temperatures on planets, I know sounds crazy, seeming how we have only been keeping track of the weather for 150 years, and the deserts of Africa used to be lush rain forests.

Uncle Sam

I wonder what the original Uncle Sam would say about the direction that this country is headed. I received and email from both of Oregon's senators this week. Regardless of what anyone thinks about socialized health care, one world government, or panhandling issues, they are going to vote the way they want to vote.

That is maddening to me. It makes me wonder what my grandfather, and great uncle would think. It makes me wonder what my brother (my only best friend for the last 27.5 years) thinks.

He proudly serves this country, and this countries sovereignty. I support our troops, I love the selfless sacrifice they put their families through. I commend them and their spouses, children, parents, uncles, sisters, brothers, grandparents, and other extended family. Thank You.

I will continue to enjoy my freedoms for now, we shall see how long these so called politicians let us continue to have any freedoms. Even as Soviet Russia was funding the Communist movement in China, (I guess Stalin wasn't that bad of a guy after all). I am reading this new biography on this ruthless dictator. He hated people, he murdered people just because they owned land. That is right just because they owned land. He called for redistribution of wealth and land. They beheaded, disemboweled, or tortured people for speaking out against him. The fact that he had 70 million of his fellow Chinese murdered makes him one of the most evil men in history. He killed and lied to get money from Moscow. Then he betrayed Moscow, on numerous times switching from the Nationalist party to the Communist party over and over, to stay of the hit list. I'm seeing many similar traits from his policy on "fairness" with out current administration. The same spotlight mentality. I am scared of where this is going. As well as you all know I have been emailing Oregon's senators everyday telling them not to vote for socialism, that it is bad, sorry to ruin your day. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE WHO READS THIS BLOG TO EMAIL YOUR SENATORS AND VOICE YOUR OPINION.

THE CHOICE IS YOURS

The choice is yours. What choice? The choice to let your freedoms go away, not to speak up against the rampaging attack on freedom in exchange for socialism. This thought came to me while watching WALL-E. They sat back in that movie and let the robots control everything that they did, ate, and thought. They didn't even get to see their surroundings because of the screen in front of their face that never went away. It was their telephone, t.v., and personal advertisement bombardment. They wanted to live not survive. At the end they finally got off their butts and walked. Stood up for what was right.

Then you take Kung Fu Panda, told the whole time that he was not the Dragon Warrior. It is time that the lazy people of this country quit being complacent and speak up against what is happening. Inform these politicians that what is happening is not right. I have been called as the Elders Quorum President. It is a lot more responsibility than most people give credit for. Most of the time the president just looks like he is sitting in the back twiddling his thumbs, but he is not, he has to be the planner, organizer, and fixer, when it needs to be fixed. I am usually called to be the fixer. So here I am to fix something that I do not know yet what needs to be fixed. So here is to good luck, and prayer that the spirit will help me on this voyage.

@#*@&%! Not a rocket scientist here but if you don't want to respond do not give me the option of wanting one. Well I have an idea, make all the U.S. Senators and Congressman take a pay cut, to lets say 60,000 a year. Get rid of all bureaucrats. They are not elected anyway. Get rid of all the unconstitutional federal laws, which is 99% of them, and go back to 50 sovereign states. With only the protection of a federal army. Wow, it worked for the founding fathers. I think it would work again. Maybe then we wouldn't fail as a country. Oh yea and by the way take the unconstitutional federal income tax back to a voluntary 4% like it is supposed to be. I MEAN COME ON PEOPLE, DO YOU REALLY WANT THIS SCARY FACED EVIL HAG RUNNING THE SHOW, WELL SHE IS. First you have to have your paperwork faxed to your dispatcher, then your dispatcher faxes the paperwork and an e-manifest that he makes on the gov's website, then the dispatcher faxes the paperwork back to the dispatcher, who then faxes it back to you when it is completed. But wait it's not over, you have to wait for a minimum of two hours for the Department of Homeland Security to have and process the paperwork, so your dispatcher can call them to get you a final approval if you can cross the border or not. Then when you get to the border you usually have an hour to two hour wait just to get to the checkpoint. Sometimes you go right through. When you get to the checkpoint you have to give the border agent your e-manifest and customs invoice. Usually they ask you what you have and they stamp your paperwork and you go on. Going to Canada like I said is way easier, never a wait and they ask where you live and where are you going, what are you hauling. You tell them they say thanks and away you go. Weird.

GENERAL CONFERENCE

It is that time of the year again. It is time for General Conference. Which happens twice a year, April and October. Where members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (and nonmembers which are welcome) to enjoy counsel and talks from our Prophet, Apostles, and the General Authorities of the Church. I Have been able to attend General Conference once since I have been an active member. It was the most wonderful experience. The amount of the spirit that was present when President Gordon B. Hinckley came out was incredible. I will never forget that wonderful, spiritual giant. The Conference center is huge it seats over 2
0,000 people, the roof is supported by zero internal pillars, so there is not one obstructed view in the whole place. The roof mind you is an outdoor garden with all the natural plants and grasses that are native to Utah. It also has fountains, a waterfall that starts on the roof and ends on street level. It is a beautiful building. But most beautiful of it all is the organ.Well as you can see the wall can be projected with different colored lights. That organ is huge, I watched something on it once where they said how many pipes are behind the fake pipes but it is an incredible amount. The organ for some songs has to be played by two men at once. The organ has five keyboards, untold numbers of buttons to change the sound. I can't play the piano let alone a regular organ. Sheesh. But anyway its 12:30 pacific time, so gotta go conference starts in 30 min.

Tardo's in Seattle

So to the best of my knowledge, I cannot figure out why no one in Seattle during daylight hours can either go the speed limit, or get on the freeway at freeway speed. Don't worry you Portland tardo's are in the same category. So here is the deal, I am driving at 60-65 mph with two trailers that equal 70 feet by them selves then you add 20 feet for the truck. Yes, exactly I cannot just get over on a whim cause you can't look next to you or in front of you until the merge lane ends. That is right it is the responsibility of the person entering the freeway to merge into traffic. Technically anyone could get a ticket for getting over to let people on to the freeway. Excessive lane changes. Then when we all get out of the parking lot style driving the people that have been tailgating me will not go around me. So I do get over and O my Gosh they speed up, but unfortunately they slow down just to tailgate the person that is now in front of them. No these tardo's cannot drive for them selves. They have to be sheep, just get in line because that's what everyone else does. Come on people have a mind of your own. Make your own decisions. My Gosh!!!!
